Direct To Film

DTF stands for Direct To Film. This technique involves printing a design directly onto a film, applying adhesive powder then transferring it to a T-shirt made of cotton, polyester, or blends using a heat press. Despite popular belief this is a very old technology. Screen Printed Transfers have been around for years and are prepared in the same fashion. The advantage of DTF is you have no need to make screens, simply print the transfer with an appropriate inkjet printer. This makes DTF great for short runs and even single prints using full colour.
Longevity: A properly applied DTF transfer can outlast the garment it's printed on. When it comes to DTF durability, we're not talking weeks or months, but years. With regular use and standard washing and drying, Speedy T’s testing shows a DTF print can last an average of 80 washes. Feel: DTF printed shirts typically have a softer feel than a screen printed shirt where plastisol ink is used.
CARE: Like anything printed, Speedy T’s recommend washing your DTF printed shirt inside out. Hot or cold wash cycle and use of the dryer are all fine.
